The projects of bilateral co-operation are aimed in particularly at:
- preparation of joint international projects;
- preparation of joint publications and other outcomes;
- joint active participation at conferences as outcome from joint research and development activities;
- common utilisation of machinery and laboratory equipment;
- collection of research documents.
In 2009 the Slovak Republic has concluded bilateral agreements on scientific and technological co-operation with the following countries:
Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of South Africa, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Ukraine and United States of America.
Bilateral co-operation enables the Slovak research institutions to establish contacts with foreign partners and create conditions for a successful multilateral co-operation, mainly under FP7, and projects under EUREKA, COST, NATO, ESF and other programmes.
